The boys take a bath together every night in the master bathroom tub. The tub in that bathroom happens to be a whirlpool tub. The boys know that if you “push the button” it will turn on the jets. Currently Myles is going through a phase where he has decided he is afraid of the whirlpool. (Rhys went through this phase too) John, being the playful father that he is, began saying, “Push the button?” Myles said, “no push the button” at which daddy giggled slightly. Myles then turned and said very seriously, “ITS NOT FUNNY!”, which, of course, was hilarious!
We made our first attempt today at having Rhys sleep in only underwear. In other words with no pull-up (diaper) on. Success!! He slept from 1pm till 4pm and remained completely dry. We are now trying out the overnight. I’m assuming we will not be as successful on the first try. Still I’m proud and excited we are getting closer and closer to no diapers at all!
When I picked Rhys up from school today, the first thing I noticed were his purple feet. The reason I had no problem noticing this, of course, is because a few days ago we went shopping and bought him a pair of flip flops. He had quite the time trying them on in the store, parading them around, getting used to the new style. They have been such a hit, he has refused to wear any other shoes since, even in cold foggy weather. Back to the purple feet. He was very excited about them! Apparently they are from a project they had done at school today. They dipped their feet in paint and then went on a foot parade, making a mural of their feet prints. I can’t wait to see it. Rhys got to re-showoff his feet when daddy came home. He was really into them.

I’m impressed with how hot it is today. Don’t get me wrong the weather is beautiful, but it definitely wasn’t a good idea to wear jeans to the playground. We went out to the main Golden Gate Playground today. I usually hate going there. Its a really cool playground, but it covers a lot of surface area which makes it hard to keep the kids together and an eye on them both. Both my boys think they are big kids and wanted to play on the older (5-12 year old) side of the playground. There weren’t really any “big” kids there so we played on the bigger side. Rhys actually walked up a huge flight of stairs, at least one story, maybe two, to the top of a long cement slide(the kids you use the cardboard to sit on on your way down) and slid down on his own. His cousin, Kaitlyn, helped him get started. He had a great time.

The Kris Krakes are here for a visit for 2 weeks. The first day they were here, we went to see the Giants play an afternoon game. The kids had never been on a subway before and I think that it might have been more exciting getting to the game than the actual baseball game itself. On Tuesday we went down to the Montery Bay Aquarium. Its a two hour drive along the coast. We had a great time and got to see lots of fish and Jelly fish. I thought it would be a good idea to take the red wagon, but it didn’t go over so well, so we had 5 kids running around with 3 adults in constant counting mode. After the aquarium we drove 17 Mile drive which was absolutely beautiful. By this time it was close to 5pm so we needed to head home. We had to stop for an“emergency” on the way home and got in well past bed time. The kids were exhausted, but I know they had a good time. I know this because Conner walked in the door and shouted to Uncle John, “We had a great time”. I put an album up on my Facebook page.
